When your roof in Clawson starts leaking after one of Michigan’s 70-mph storm gusts, you don’t want to wait three weeks for an out-of-area contractor to swing by. Clawson is about 17 miles north of our shop at 14564 Schaefer Hwy in Detroit — roughly 25 minutes via the Southfield Freeway (M-39) to I-696 east and Crooks Road. We cover the whole Metro Detroit area, and we’re one of the established roofing companies you can call when something happens to your roof tonight.
For 20+ years we’ve been replacing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial roofs across Metro Detroit. We’re veteran-owned and family-run. The crew that quotes your roof is the crew you’ll see on it. And if you get a written quote from another licensed roofer in the Clawson area, we’ll beat it — guaranteed.
Clawson packs its whole housing stock into barely 2.2 square miles, which makes it one of the densest, most walkable small cities in Oakland County — and one of the most predictable to roof. The oldest streets date to the 1910s and 1920s, when Clawson filled with mail-order kit houses from Sears, Aladdin and Lewis; you can still find original Craftsman bungalows with wide front-gable or clipped-gable roofs, exposed rafter tails and shed dormers. Around them sits a big block of late-1940s and 1950s brick Cape Cods, story-and-a-half minimal traditionals and small ranches built on narrow 40- and 50-foot lots. The recurring problems here are tight: undersized or blocked soffit venting in the story-and-a-half attics, ice dams over shallow-overhang eaves, second-story pop-top and dormer additions where the new roof was tied badly into the old, and aging detached garages off the rear alleys. Lots are close together, so staging, tear-off protection and cleanup have to be tidy.
We work on these exact homes every week:
If your home is in the 48017 ZIP code, there’s a good chance we’ve already done a roof on your block.
Southeast Michigan storm seasons are getting more aggressive. Most seasons bring at least one round of 60 to 70 mph wind gusts and hail across the area. Wind lifts and tears shingles. Hail leaves invisible bruises that turn into leaks two storms later. Then ice dams in February finish the job.
When you call after a storm, we’ll:
We’ve been doing storm response across Metro Detroit long enough that local insurance adjusters know our work.
All work comes with our 10-year labor warranty on top of the manufacturer’s shingle warranty.
We work across all of Clawson, with most of our recent jobs concentrated in or around:
We also work near landmarks like Clawson City Park, the Clawson Historical Museum in the 1919 Fisher house, Blair Memorial Library and Clawson City Hall on Main Street. Clawson Public Schools serves essentially the entire city — it is one of the smallest districts in Michigan by land area, covering about the same 2.2 square miles as the city itself. School families across the district make up a big share of our local customer base.
We also serve the adjacent communities of Royal Oak, Troy and Madison Heights — so if friends or family nearby need roof work, you can refer with confidence.
Veteran-owned and family-run. Ted Thompson started T&M Roofing in Detroit after 20+ years of doing the work himself. He still walks every Clawson job before we finalize the quote.
10-year labor warranty. Most local roofers offer 1–2 years. Ours covers labor for a full decade.
Price-beat guarantee. Bring us a written quote from any licensed Clawson-area roofer and we’ll beat it.
Same-week availability. Big national contractors push you out 4–6 weeks. We turn most jobs around in 5–7 business days.
