When your roof in Utica starts leaking after one of Michigan’s 70-mph storm gusts, you don’t want to wait three weeks for an out-of-area contractor to swing by. Utica is about 25 miles northeast of our shop at 14564 Schaefer Hwy in Detroit — roughly 35 minutes via I-696 east to the Van Dyke Freeway (M-53) north. We cover the whole Metro Detroit area, and we’re one of the established roofing companies you can call when something happens to your roof tonight.
For 20+ years we’ve been replacing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial roofs across Metro Detroit. We’re veteran-owned and family-run. The crew that quotes your roof is the crew you’ll see on it. And if you get a written quote from another licensed roofer in the Utica area, we’ll beat it — guaranteed.
The City of Utica is small — under two square miles and about 5,000 residents — but it has two very different kinds of roof inside those borders. Around the old downtown at Auburn Road and Van Dyke you still have Utica’s 19th- and early-20th-century core: steep-pitched gabled frame houses, some with front porches, dormers and tall exterior brick chimneys, sitting inside the city’s designated historic district where exterior work can require Historic District Commission review. Push out from there and the housing turns almost entirely 1960s and 1970s — brick ranches, split-levels, quad-levels and tri-levels on quarter-acre subdivision lots, with the low-slope-over-garage and stepped-roof-plane geometry that split-levels are famous for. Those step-downs and the long, low-pitch runs are where we find failed valley metal, wind-lifted ridge caps and ice damming. Utica also sits right on the Clinton River, so mature riverside tree canopy loads valleys and gutters with debris and keeps shaded slopes damp well into spring.
We work on these exact homes every week:
If your home is in the 48317 ZIP code, there’s a good chance we’ve already done a roof on your block.
Southeast Michigan storm seasons are getting more aggressive. Most seasons bring at least one round of 60 to 70 mph wind gusts and hail across the area. Wind lifts and tears shingles. Hail leaves invisible bruises that turn into leaks two storms later. Then ice dams in February finish the job.
When you call after a storm, we’ll:
We’ve been doing storm response across Metro Detroit long enough that local insurance adjusters know our work.
All work comes with our 10-year labor warranty on top of the manufacturer’s shingle warranty.
We work across all of Utica, with most of our recent jobs concentrated in or around:
We also work near landmarks like the ballpark on Auburn Road in downtown Utica, Utica City Hall at 7550 Auburn Road, Memorial Park with its clock tower, and Clinton River Heritage Park on Van Dyke. Utica is served by Utica Community Schools — but be aware that despite the name, UCS is the second-largest district in Michigan and covers far more than the city itself, reaching across most of Shelby Township, northern Sterling Heights and parts of Macomb, Washington and Ray townships. Utica High School, in fact, sits on Shelby Road just outside the city limits. School families across the district make up a big share of our local customer base.
We also serve the adjacent communities of Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Macomb Township and Rochester Hills — so if friends or family nearby need roof work, you can refer with confidence.

Price-beat guarantee. Bring us a written quote from any licensed Utica-area roofer and we’ll beat it.
